About the event

Have your young ones join Aunty Puamana at the Muʻumuʻu Library this summer for a beginner sewing class for ʻōpio (13-18 year olds)! Modeled after Hālau Hula, this class will include:

-Basic foundational skills of hand stitching and machine sewing, producing 2-3 projects based on skills learned

-Hawaiian values

-ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi integrated into lessons

-1-1 learning with Kumu


Come join us & letʻs have fun learning the art of sewing!


2 weekly classes available, Wednesdays 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM or Thursdays 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Classes will occur from June 4-July 28 with orientation taking place on Wednesday, May 28, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
